(Blog) Subscription Boxes and Content Creation

Hey OAG Gang,

Next month, and for the foreseeable eternity, we will most likely be seeing a price increase in Japanese pokemon card packs.

Otaku Subscription Boxes

In general, packs from 30 pack boxes are increasing from 180 yen to 200 yen each. This, then, also brings the MSRP price of booster boxes up from 5400 yen to about 6000 yen.

This means 2 things for our site:

1. We will need to increase prices of packs and boxes accordingly.

2. Prices of some of our curated/special products will need to increase - namely our Otaku Subscription Boxes.

While the increase won't be huge (most likely an 8-12% increase depending on the item) we do understand that NOBODY likes prices to go up so we would like to offer no price change on the product until June!

If you already subscribe, that price is grandfathered in and there will be no price increase for your order!

Please take advantage of this deal while it is still being offered!

Streamer Deals

As we grow more as a community, we have been looking for ways to expand our outreach. We are looking to partner with a few streamers (about 2-) across various platforms to be their supplier. We have a great inventory of ARs, SARs, and high rarity cards, we just want to make sure to have the right people to partner with.

If you are interested at all, or know of any streamers, please feel free to reach out and we can have a conversation. We are offering greatly discounted products - cards and, occasionally, sealed - so we hope to find the right fit!

We will begin to stream as well, possibly on Twitch and other platforms, so please be on the lookout for that! We will have all information on our front page!

Help with Content Creation

Finally, I wanted to reach out to let you know that we’re looking for a couple of people to help us out with content moving forward.

We want to start posting more regularly on the blog (product reviews, unboxing stories, collecting tips, news, etc.), but as a small shop it’s getting hard for me to do everything alone. So we’re looking for writers who are down to contribute occasionally. Soon after, we will be reaching out for other social media content, such as video reviews, reels/shorts etc.

If you love anime, Pokémon, One Piece, or TCGs in general and enjoy writing, this could be a cool opportunity. In return, we would occasionally offer free or heavily discounted products (Oripa packs, sealed boxes, singles, accessories etc.) plus full credit on every post with a link to your socials or whatever you want.

This is not a big paid gig right now (we’re still a small team), but it’s a chance to write about stuff you actually care about and help us grow the community.

If you’re interested, even if it’s just one or two posts a month, shoot me an email at otakuanimegoods@gmail.com and let me know a bit about yourself + any writing samples (doesn’t have to be perfect or anime-related).

No pressure at all — every bit of help is appreciated.

Thank you so much for being with our community and for reading!
